Quick returns to an expansion strategy in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
Eighth Quick already planned in this country with great potential
Since the first Quick opened in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in 1983, 6 other restaurants were opened in the country: Bertrange, Walferdange, Howald, Esch-Sur-Alzette, Gare de Luxembourg and finally Kirchberg. For the first half of 2010, the
group is on the point of opening an eighth restaurant in Bascharage.
These 2 new openings in the Grand Duchy confirm the wish of Quick to accelerate its developments in Luxembourg, as Annick Van Overstraeten, General Manager of Operations for Quick BeLux explains: “After having consolidated the existing restaurants, we have returned to a strategy of expansion by concretising investments being studied for several years. We are convinced that Luxembourg represents a great potential, this is why we continue to analyse very closely all the development opportunities that could arise for us.”
Quick will create approximately 60 new jobs in Luxembourg
The developments of Quick in Luxembourg also result in the creation of many jobs. Currently, the group employs more than 170 staff in Luxembourg. Following the opening of the restaurants in Kirchberg and Bascharage, the group will create approximately 60 new jobs for the first half of 2010 and will continue the training of its staff.
The Quick in Kirchberg is immersed in a “Loft” atmosphere
The new Quick restaurant in Kirchberg is located in the centre of the extension of the new Auchan shopping centre. Located opposite the Utopolis movie theatre complex, it is the largest shopping mall in the country. The restaurant has more than 220 seating places. It is also equipped with interactive terminals that allow customers who wish to, to order their favourite hamburger directly from an interactive touch screen.
Last year, Quick launched the “Lounge” and “Loft” decorations in order to address the desires and needs of its customers as well as possible. The consumer is constantly looking for new varieties of tastes and places where “wellbeing” is an absolute priority. Such a requirement logically includes products and a high quality service, but also the warm and trendy decoration of the Quick restaurants.
The choice of the Loft concept is explained by the style of the restaurant in Kirchberg. Annick Van Overstraeten states: “If the quality of our products is our absolute priority, we also want the design of our decorations to make it possible for our customers to enjoy their visit like a unique experience. For that, we adapt the concept of our decorations to the type of visitors and existing spaces. The Loft concept is adapted for a larger restaurant like that in Kirchberg, because it concentrates on the occupation of
space and the partitions.”
The Loft concept is centred around 3 urban micro-styles. Freetime@loft offers warm spaces intended for groups of friends and couples, with settees, 2-seat benches and small tables. For singles and businessmen, Work@loft gives a feeling of speed and efficiency, thanks to the installation of standing tables and communal hosts in the immediate vicinity of the counter and the principal entrances. Lastly, the Family@loft style, as its name suggests, is the part of Loft – close to the Magic Planet area - intended for families and large groups. It includes large 10-place tables and giant hanging decorations that create a friendly, family atmosphere.
The Luxembourg restaurants whose decoration has already changed are the Quick in Walferdange (Oasis), Bertrange (Loft) and Esch-Sur-Alzette (Oasis). The remodelling policy will continue in the years to come.
